Georgia O’Keeffe

Georgia O'Keeffe (November 15, 1887 – March 6, 1986) was an American artist who has been recognized as the "Mother of American modernism".

White Rose (1928) - Oil on canvas by Georgia O’Keeffe (Collection of The Phoenix Art Museum)

White Rose is an example of her paintings of enlarged flowers she was best known for.

Pink Abstraction (1929) - Oil on canvas by Georgia O’Keeffe (Collection of The Phoenix Art Museum)

Pink Abstraction is most certainly derived from an enlarged flower and shows how her figurative paintings led O'Keeffe towards abstraction.

Drawing at SIP Coffee & Beer Garage (Phoenix – Arizona)

While in Phoenix, I had lunch at SIP Coffee & Beer Garage. As the name suggests, it is a converted garage where you can sip coffee and beer… They also make nice salads. As I was driving, I stayed away from the beer and had an iced-coffee instead. I recommend this place: great atmosphere, good food, good music, and welcoming staff.

I did two sketches.

Singer-Songwriter Brian Keith Wallen (https://bkwmusic.com/ ) was playing some live music. I like his music and bought his last CD, "Going Back Home"
