Henri Martin Room in the Capitole in Toulouse

The room itself was built in 1605, which makes it one of the oldest part of the Capitole.

The painter Henri Martin was hired in 1900 to decorate the room after it had been restored.

The theme of the painting is “Le Temps qui Passe” (the passing of time) and depicts the seasons both in the countryside and in town. La Garone, the river flowing through Toulouse, features in many of the paintings.
