Gallery of the Battles in the Palace of Versailles

We went to visit the Palace of Versailles and will make a few posts in the coming weeks.



The vast Gallery of the Battles was conceived and executed from 1833, and inaugurated on 10 June 1837. Louis-Philippe gathered there 33 large oil paintings featuring some battles won by France; from the battle of Tolbiac in 496 to the battle of Wagram in 1809.
